General Ledger Accountant

CTF Illinois is seeking a motivated and organized professional to join our team as a General Ledger Accountant in Orland Park, IL.  If you have a knack for numbers, are a self- started with strong organization skills, and have previous experience in accounting, we would love to talk to you!  As a General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including all aspects of full-cycle month-end closing and payroll processing.
Job Duties:

  • Prepare journal entries, cash disbursement, cash receipts, month-end & year-end closing, account analysis, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and reconcile system uploads into General Ledger.
  • Responsible for any tasks necessary to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyze financial statements and prepare budget variance analysis using sound judgement and critical thinking.
  • Government reporting.
  • Payroll processing, using Paycom.
  • Assist in maintaining storage and organization of records.
  • Accounts Payable processing back-up.
  • Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
 
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 year degree in accounting plus 3-5 years experience in all aspects of accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting.
  • Demonstrated competence in the application of general accounting theory. 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel and General Ledger software applications. 
  • Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus
