CTF Illinois is seeking a highly organized, motivated, and flexible professional to join our team as a Community Employment Specialist in the South Suburbs of Chicago. The Community Employment Specialist is responsible for assisting individuals with disabilities to enhance, identify, and retain competitive, integrated employment.
Job Duties:
- Generally, Monday- Friday with flexibility to work evenings and weekends to accommodate individuals’ schedules
- Provide individualized services and supports to individuals on job sites, and assisting in employment activities (i.e. develop resumes, completing job applications, coordinate interviews, complete vocational assessments, provide on-the-job training of work skills, model appropriate behavior and social interactions in the work place, etc.)
- Make connections and network with community resources and partners for promotion of employment of individuals with disabilities
- Research and recommends community employment sites and activities (i.e. job fairs, community contacts, community events, etc.)
- Maintaining documentation of services, progress notes, required staffing, and other required documents
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Travel required in Chicagoland area and to Champaign, IL
Requirements:
- Five years of experience in Human Services or Bachelor Degree in related area
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Above average verbal and written communication skills, ability to give presentations to employers and community groups
- Ability to build community partnerships/ network
- Proven ability to carry out job duties in a professional manner, with a positive outlook and approach
- Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strongly prefer experience working with individuals with disabilities in areas of community, integrated, competitive employment
- Preferred familiarity with Illinois business and community resources
