Position Responsibilities
 

The Accounting Associate will manage day-to-day financial transactions in a fast-paced Financial Services Firm. The Accounting Associate will work under the Director of Operations, reconciling accounts payable/receivable, maintaining a comprehensive financial filing system, and other miscellaneous projects. You must be proficient in QuickBooks Pro Desktop
 

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • manage sales commission receivables and management fees
  • track pending business with Client Services
  • participate in the development of department policies and procedures
  • reconcile all bank statements
  • track renewals and trials of insurance contracts
  • weekly update pending commission and paid reports
  • monthly reconcile credit card receipts and transactions
  • assemble reports for financial audits
  • maintain an orderly financial filing system
  • compile tax filing documents
  • track and audit marketing credit
  • work independently to research and resolve accounting issues
  • answer calls as a backup to front desk client Relations Associate
  • assist with other projects as needed

Education and Experience

  • proficient in QuickBooks Pro Desktop
  • advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record-keeping
  • knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management
