Position Responsibilities
The Accounting Associate will manage day-to-day financial transactions in a fast-paced Financial Services Firm. The Accounting Associate will work under the Director of Operations, reconciling accounts payable/receivable, maintaining a comprehensive financial filing system, and other miscellaneous projects. You must be proficient in QuickBooks Pro Desktop
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- manage sales commission receivables and management fees
- track pending business with Client Services
- participate in the development of department policies and procedures
- reconcile all bank statements
- track renewals and trials of insurance contracts
- weekly update pending commission and paid reports
- monthly reconcile credit card receipts and transactions
- assemble reports for financial audits
- maintain an orderly financial filing system
- compile tax filing documents
- track and audit marketing credit
- work independently to research and resolve accounting issues
- answer calls as a backup to front desk client Relations Associate
- assist with other projects as needed
Education and Experience
- proficient in QuickBooks Pro Desktop
- advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record-keeping
- knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management
